Whilst Editing:
While I was editing earlier this week and basically finished my opening, I wasn't satisfied. Mainly I felt something wrong with the flow of the opening. It felt way too static and as if it was a compilation. I knew I had to make some changes to fix this. I only needed a couple shots I was going to get on Monday with my friend to finish everything.
I decided today I would spend my time gathering a variety of shots. I also wanted to test some possible shots and redo some I already had. This time, I wanted to focus on the nature around me. In order to do this, I wanted to get some shots of the wildlife in the area. Something I kept in mind was having variety in shot types but every shot has a purpose. It's a waste of screen time to have a basic and boring still shot of the character searching.
It's also good to note on Thursday my friend helped me before he went on his trip. He was new to filmmaking so it was really difficult at first. It took about an hour to situate everything. We were also on a time crunch on Thursday since he had to go to work. I needed his help with 4 main shots. We ended up getting 2 and a decently difficult shot. In the shot below he took many retakes. We had to set up markers for him to follow to get the shot right. Every shot was looking better until we got the one below.

For the shots of nature, I wanted to get, It was mostly by chance. I was running around the set searching for incests I can record. Spiders were really difficult to capture with an iPhone. This applied to almost all small incests so I shifted my focus to some butterflies I saw earlier. I was chasing this one butterfly down for a few minutes until it sat perfectly on a leaf. This gave me the opportunity to get the shot below.

Moving Foward:
After getting the shot above, I continued to take various shots I already had. I also began experimenting with different shots. This will be really helpful while I am editing. If I need footage in a certain area to make it feel cohesive, I will have the spare footage. I will also re-take some of the shots in the empty room tomorrow night. I feel as if I could have made it more intense.
The next three days are perfect for me to finish my opening and be almost finished with the CCR. I want the CCR to be done by Friday so I am in good standing to make that happen. I don't have any work on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday since my gym location is moving. This will allow me to work on this project day till night on these coming days. It is really cool to see where I am with my project now!
